If you hear someone whine about the CPA exam pass rate, you can tell them that in the world of wine, most people are whining about not passing. The Court of Master Sommeliers, a London-based organization established to encourage improved standards of beverage knowledge and service in hotels and restaurants, boasts that only 190 professionals worldwide have ever received the title of Master Sommelier. Apparently, the exam pass rate is three percent. Being sharp at math, accountants will note that’s a 97 percent fail rate.
Drink up.
