Accounting, like most other professional positions, requires expertise that not everyone can do. If you perform a job where someone tells you exactly what to do, he/she will generally find someone cheaper than you to do it–especially in today’s tight business landscape. Fortunately, most accounting professionals are in roles where providing the technical knowledge, business savvy and consultative advice is the deliverable.
