Attending the recent Ohio Society of CPAs Columbus Accounting Show, I had never seen an energy company exhibiting on the trade show floor at an accounting conference, so seeing Border Energy with a booth caught my eye. Speaking with a nice guy named Tony who was running the booth, I asked him why they were there. Thinking about it, I have to say it’s a wonder that other energy companies don’t take part in accounting trade shows. CPAs run their firms and make energy purchasing decisions; they have clients who make decisions on energy suppliers; CPAs, for the most part, own their homes and can choose energy companies. Adding that all up, I can see why Border Energy participated in the show. Forward thinking, smart marketing.
